The Shinobu 10 Years Old Pure Malt Japanese Whisky – Mizunara Oak Finish

Volume: 700ml             ABV: 43%           Age: 10 Years Old       Country: Japan

Niigata is known in Japan for its “Three White” treasures, i.e. snow, rice and sake, and a naturally blessed environment for pure water source. Shinobu means “Forbearance” in Japanese as it is how the distiller’s spirit should be when making quality whisky.

Shinobu Whisky is hand crafted by the distiller, Mr. Usami. He carefully selects whisky from around the world and first matures this in ex-Sherry and ex-Bourbon casks. It is then finishing in precious Japanese Mizunara oak and further maturing of the spirit takes place in Japan. The result is a unique fusion of flavours and dynamic explosion in palate yet so smooth and easy to drink. All natural with no colouring.

Mizunara is an expensive oak which is hard to craft into barrels, but imparts incredible flavour on the spirit of Shinobu. This pure malt has been maturing for no less than 10 years which has now allowed the spirit to take on some very inspiring characteristics.

One of the best value Japanese whiskies going around today, bottled at 43% abv
